ELECTRIC BIKE TEST RIDES
Test rides can be a really important part of discovering the right e-bike for you – trying out different models, asking lots of questions and finding ‘the one’. It’s probably the most exciting part of buying your first e-bike; feeling the power of an e-bike pull you up a hill or accelerate away from the lights! Our e-bike test rides are Covid-safe – we sterilise all contact points before and after every test ride, and perform both assisted and non-assisted test rides socially distanced.

How E-Bike Test Rides Work
- Call the shop or email to ensure your favorite electric bike is in stock and ready for a test ride. And then book the day and time of your test drive with our colleagues.
- When you arrive at your test ride time, say hello to one of our colleagues, and we’ll chat through our range of e-bikes in store, and match your preferences to a test model that we think will suit you best.
- Don't forget to bring a matching photo ID and debit or credit card. Your test ride is free, but we require a refundable 50p deposit to release the e-bike to you.
- It’s time to ride! We’ll be able to help you with a local route suggestion, and in some cases we may be able to accompany you if you like (subject to colleague availability – just ask us on the day).
- After the test ride has finished, we’ll refund the deposit and return your card. Don’t worry, there is no obligation to buy if don’t want to.

ARE TEST RIDES COVID SAFE?
We continue to take your safety seriously in stores.There is easy access to hand sanitiser.We thoroughly clean e-bikes with anti-bacterial solution after every test ride.Masks are optional in our English stores, but if you prefer that you are served by a colleague wearing a mask, we are happy to do so. Masks remain mandatory in Wales and Scotland.We offer contactless email receipts.Unfortunately, fitting rooms remain closed.Exceptions As the Covid situation changes, local stores may be subject to locally-enforced guidelines, or more stringent measures designed to ensure safety.
DO I NEED TO PRE-BOOK IN ADVANCE?
We strongly recommend that you book your test ride so that we can be ready for you with an e-bike best-suited to your preferences.
WHAT FORM OF ID DO I NEED TO BRING?
Any document that shows your name and current address. Examples include:Passport photocardDriving licenceA recent bank statementA recent utility bill
HOW MANY E-BIKES CAN I TEST?
You can test as many as you like in one visit, subject to availability.
HOW LONG DO TEST RIDES LAST?
Test rides usually last for 10-15 minutes, and should not extend beyond the immediate area of the store. We’ll be able to recommend a route for you that will bring you back to the store.
CAN I TEST RIDE AN E-BIKE FOR AN EXTENDED TIME?
Unfortunately, we cannot offer extended test rides of e-bikes.
WILL I GET MY DEPOSIT BACK?
Yes. When your test ride has finished and the e-bike returned in good working order, we’ll automatically return the 50p deposit.
CAN I PAY THE DEPOSIT BY ANOTHER MEANS?
Unfortunately, we must take a chip and pin transaction from your debit or credit card. Cash, cheque or bank transfer cannot be accepted.
